Guess what. Yup, we're still in quarantine. Here in Miami it's getting very close to summer. My cousins in Georgia are already in summer! Well...summer based on 2020 standards. Gross. WHOA! I am so sorry. My cat wrote that first part but I'm here now, enough of the negativity. Anyways, this summer doesn't have to be as horrible as you think it may be. I have six great ways for you to spend it in quarantine. No human contact required.
*If you decide to camp in your backyard here's a preview*
Set Up a Permanent Game
Sorry, that's a pretty confusing title. Let me be more clear: install a recreational happening that will never remain never. Just kidding, I don't even understand that. This is actually a really easy and fun idea. Set up any kind of sports game that will constantly be in your face, for example: a basketball hoop, foosball table, tennis net, etc. This way you always have something fun to do. The boredom killer! Darn. That's what I should have called it.
Make Popsicles
Ah. The classic summer activity. Just add a popsicle maker to your already packed amazon cart. To be honest the only reason I'm listing this is because I had a really good popsicle today and now they're on my mind. In case you are wondering it's the lime flavor from the Whole Foods brand.
Bike Race Scavenger Hunt
Okay, first impressions, that's a pretty weird idea. What does it mean you ask? Oh, oops. I completely forgot. Wait! Okay got it. So this is really weird, but with all the people biking around my neighborhood I was inspired. Gather the people in your house and split into teams, write up a list of items around your neighborhood and grab your bikes. Now for the interesting part. Each team has to find and take a picture of each item on the list. Whoever gets back to the home base first with the most items wins. A bike race scavenger hunt is, in my oh so humble opinion, the best way to describe it.
Make a Fruit Sculpture
Hahaha I can just see you looking at the screen and thinking "okay this is crossing the line when it comes to weird". Fear not! It will make sense in the end. This is actually close to impossible to explain so here's a picture of one that my Grandpa and cousin did
together. HOW CUTE IS THAT?!
Camp in Your Backyard
Tadaa, another item for your amazon order. A wonderful set of tents and some blankets is all you will need for this treat. If you don't have a backyard or don't want to sleep outside, camp in your living room.
An Art Project
This item is actually a little sentimental. The goal is to start an art project (painting, collage, etc.) at the start of summer. Each day add one thing to it until quarantine or summer comes to an end. Hopefully when you look back at it you can remember each part of your journey throughout the historic summer of 2020.
Thank you so much for reading. Hopefully this gives you something to do in your restricted summer. Don't tell my English teacher but I gave up on my essay to write this post. Remember to subscribe and have a wonderful day.
